The Cabinet of Art and Medicine bibliography, a work in progress, is a compilation of the first books on medicine printed with photographic images. The incunabula includes books published as late as 1890, extending by fifteen years the date used by Helmut Gernsheim for his title, Incunabula of British Photographic Literature 1839-75 and extending by five years the proximal date of 1885 used by Dr. Stanley Burns for his excellent chapter on bibliography in his book, Early Medical Photography in America. It is anticipated that this incunabula will eventually comprise 1200-1500 volumes and fascicles. Over 1200 photographic works have been identified so far and more than 800 of these are now catalogued.
