Journal : Revue photographique des hôpitaux de Paris ; vol. 2.

Paris : Adrien Delahaye, 1870.

Description : [1 l.] pl., 124-129 p. ; ill.: 1 photo. ; 24.5 cm.

Photograph : mounted albumen; preparation of the subject's urogenital tract.

Subject : Female genital tract — Congenital uterovaginal agenesis.

Notes :

Artful postmortem preparation of the 60 year-old subject's urogenital tract and kidneys; descriptive of Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome, although the patient died of cirrhosis and never suffered from kidney problems. The Müllerian aplasia (Figure E. – Tubercule terminant le cordon fibreux qui représentent l'utérus) and blind vagina are beautifully modelled in the photograph. The paper concludes with a review of the literature for similar cases and a legend for the photograph.
