Although Carbutt's name is captioned on the plates, it is more probable that Wallace's son made the negatives. Ellerslie Wallace Jr. was a noted medical photographer who translated from German Dr. Vogel's handbook on photography (The Progress of Photography Since the Year 1879 ; Philadelphia, Wilson ; 1883).
