F. v. Heuss, first doctor, then artist and sculptor, published 14 plates, thirteen of which he himself painted. The 14th plate is a photograph by V. Angerer, of Vienna.

Notes :

For most of his career, Heuss was a physician in the military. He eventually became a wealthy vintner and advocate of "wine therapy," successfully treating the wife of another vintner who was suffering from a uterine septicemia. The inflammation was so severe that her doctors had stopped treating her by the time Heuss was summoned. He applied 120 flasks of his wine medicine over the course of six days at the end of which his patient revived. Her recovery was so spectacular that his wine business soon flourished.
